Gondfia,20 feb_-A Diabetic Screening & Awareness Camp was organised at D. B. Science College Auditorium in association with Maoharbhai Patel Academy and DISHA Foundation, N.M.D. College of Arts & Commerce, Gondia on account of Hon’ble Shri Praful Patel’s Birthday and Smt. Varsha Patel, President Manoharbhai Patel Academy, Gondia. The programme was graced by Hon’ble Shri Rajendra Jain Secretary Gondia Education Society, Gondia, Dr. Sunil Gupta, Director, Diabetic Care & Research Center, Nagpur, Dr. Kavita Gupta, Dietician, Dr. Debashish Chatterji, Chairman, Disha Foundation, Gondia, Dr. Anjan Naidu, Principal, D.B.Science College & Dr. Rajni Chaturvedi, Principal, N.M.D.College, Gondia.
Dr. Anjan Naidu, Principal in his introductory address revealed mission and scope of the program. Dr. Sunil Gupta, Director, Diabetic Care & Research Center, Nagpur threw light on Diabetic Awareness, Types of Diabetes, its remedies and also he suggested to eat leafy vegetables, fruits instead of Junk Food and do Yoga and Exercise to become fit and healthy and guided gathering. Dr. Kavita Gupta highlighted the importance of balance diet and she further said in her speech to take Dry Fruits enough water so that a person will be free from the diseases and become healthy.
Dr. Debashis Chatterji Chairman, Disha Foundation has been conducting various programme with his team related to Diabetic Awareness for last 21 years and shared various exercises for how to tackle diabetes. More than 250 people screened during the event, 34 people were identified with Diabetes.
Dr. J.G. Mahakhode conducted the proceeding while Dr. D. S. Choudhary proposed a Vote of Thanks. Members of Manoharbhai Patel Academy, Gondia Education Society and all the teaching & non-teaching staff of D.B.Science College, N.M.D.College & S.S.Girls College, Gondia worked hard to make the program successful.
